Environmental Forums Fall Forum: Environmental Awards & Green Business Expo The Irwindale Chamber of Commerce's Environmental Committee hosts an annual Fall Forum which is dedicated to providing information and resources as well as recognition for businesses and organizations that implemented and achieved reduction in their carbon footprint. This year's Fall Forum Environmental Awards & Green Business Expo was held at City of Hope's Cooper Auditorium with the presenting sponsor being Veolia Environmental. Other Sponsors included City of Hope andFoothill Transit 2009 Environmental Award Honorees: Environmental Leadership Award: MillerCoors Environmental Leadership Award: San Gabriel Regional Mountains Conservancy Water Conservation Award: United Rock Products Energy Preservation Award: Blue Diamond Materials Solid Waste Reduction Award: San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity Honorable Mentions: A-1 Power Sweeping Cleantech Environmental Inc Picasso's Cafe, Bakery and Catering SCE Federal Credit Union Toyota Speedway of Irwindale Heartbeat for Irwindale This annual event hosted by the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce's Environmental Committee promotes healthy living, providing information and resources to the entire community. In addition to the business community, the general public is strongly encouraged to attend and benefit from this forum. The theme for this event in 2009 was “Manage Your Health – Because Change Happens in a Heartbeat” and some of the major sponsors were Veolia Environmental, City of Hope, Hanson Aggregates, Foothill Transit, Joe’s Place, and Ready Pac Produce. Featured were presentations on Healthcare Legislation, Patient Advocacy, Nutrition for Life, and Living with Hope and Health. Heartbeat for Irwindale 2008 was centered around water conservation. Entitled "Water: The Lifeblood of our Community," the forum consisted of a panel of speakers who focused on the water supply in the San Gabriel Valley and its affect on business.
