Healthcare Reform

No law since perhaps the creation of the Medicare and Medicaid programs or the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) has more fundamentally shifted the health care landscape than the recently enacted Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148, as modified by H.R. 4872, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010). Many of the provisions are geared toward expanding access to health care coverage through a mix of incentives for private insurance and a dramatic expansion of public programs.

Small Business Administration (SBA) Links

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. We recognize that small business is critical to our economic recovery and strength, to building America's future, and to helping the United States compete in today's global marketplace.

Federal Grant Resources
While the SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments.

Fostering the growth of these federal contractors as viable businesses, for the long term, helps to empower communities, create jobs, and attract private investment.
