Mission Statement

To prepare, inform and advocate, on behalf of the business and residential community, environmental concerns and emergency preparation and response planning.

Everyone is welcome. Stop in at our next committee meeting at the Chamber.
If you care about health and safety issues that affect community, business, or the environment, you should consider joining this committee.
Throughout the year, the committee conducts industry tours to become better educated about the diverse business environment in which we live.  Tours in 2014 and 2015 have included Vulcan Materials, Acrylatex Paint, Bentley Industries, MillerCoors, Ready Pac, Huy Fong Foods and more.

"California's Water: A Crisis We Can't Ignore," - The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) is conducting an ongoing statewide public education program, entitled www.calwatercrisis.org, to educate Californians about critical challenges now confronting the state's water supply and delivery system, including a deepening crisis in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta (Delta) and a recent court-ordered massive reduction in our statewide water supply. Members are from faculty and students,this group has support from Vocational Technical Education Act (VTEA) funding and will concentrate its efforts in two areas:
  • instructional curriculum to prepare students for careers involving sustainable resources and renewable energy;
  • the Citrus College carbon footprint – how to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

The California Environmental Information Catalog - is an online directory for reporting and discovery of information e-sources for California. Participants include cities, counties, utilities, state and federal agencies, private businesses and academic institutions that have spatial and other types of data resources. The Catalog has been developed through a collaborative effort with the California Geographic Information Association, California Environmental Resources Evaluation System, and the Federal Geographic Data Committee.

EarthTrends - is an online collection of information regarding the environmental, social, and economic trends that shape our world.

EnviroOne - is an environmental information center and search engine serving the general public.

EnvironmentalChemistry.com - This site provides chemistry, environmental and hazardous materials educational resources including a detailed periodic table of elements; articles on chemistry, environmental and hazardous materials issues; a geologic timeline; and much more.
